I have a war bring back P38 in great condition (had sat in a drawer since it came back, should have seen the dust caked behind the hammer) and I'm not sure if its all-matching or not. The slide matches the frame but the barrel assembly's 3 digit serial # is different than the 4 digit serial # on the slide and frame. The waffenamts are the same on the barrel, frame, slide, breech lock, etc. Does the matching waffenamts mean the gun is all matching or does the different number on the barrel mean it was replaced? Thanks :)

same waffenamts means the parts originated at the same factory.

All serials would need to match to be full matching.
Slide, frame, barrel, and last three of the serial on the locking block.

Well I should be more clear, waffenamts belonged to a inspection team I believe. They can change factories from year to year, but I dont think it applies for P38s.

PICS?
