Hey there. Quick question. I bought an SVT-40 of a friend a few years ago. It’s just been languishing is my safe. Was going to put it on EE. No idea what it’s worth. I see them going for 600 hundred or more on there. This one is in good shape and has a 1943 stamp with a star.

Anyone comment on what a good price range would be? Thank you very much for any answer.

If it's standard refurbished infantry rifle probably around 700-800 depending on condition, type of stock, rails, accessories, capture stamps etc. Pics would help. P.S. Star is logo of Tula factory.

I haven't visited CGN in quite some time and... holy bovine... SVT-40s have skyrocketed !!

Glad I jumped on the "$199 SVT-40" deal from Lever Arms a few years ago !!!

As a former SVT 40 collector who has sold a few I would say that prices jumped up to the current level and have been flat for a while. The initial sales prices of $200 or $300 were a one time only aberration and there hasn't been a year by year steady increase since then. Commercial sellers seem to be able to sell run of the mill refurbs for $800+; at online auctions they routinely get $700+; on the EE you may not sell rapidly for $700; at shows here in AB you may struggle to get $600. I have noticed at the shows I've sold at that potential buyers focus almost exclusively on price and don't give much consideration to condition. It's actually difficult to get a premium for one with an excellent bore even though that's quite rare to find.
