1944 Tikka 91/30 question

Trunnion: The Finn D marking only indicates that the throat has been relieved to allow use of the Finn D 166 bullet which has larger ogive. It doesn't say anything about land/groove diameter. I would be pretty sure any Finn barrel built in '44 would be OK with any standard 7.62x54 ammunition but the only way to be sure is to slug the bore to determine groove diameter.

Do you have a friend or loose acquaintance that you don't mind much about? Maybe get them to try it. Either you'll make a better friend or no loss....

The rifle is chambered in 7.62x54R not a magical Finnish cartridge that is somehow different. Some of the earlier models had tighter bore diameters than commonly found on rifles of that caliber, that is not the case with yours. Don't worry about it, just get it out to the range!
