7.62x54r ammunition is still in military use for many countries, not to mention the vast variety of new commercial ammunition. Everything seems to have a cycle, but this one is still mid-cycle. I'm thinking that it could be several decades before the surplus ammunition completely dries up.
I picked up a museum perfect M38 from Westrifle last year. I paid a premium price but it was immaculately perfect in every way. Not sure what they have listed now? Mosin carbines have doubled in price in Canada in the last four years, they are still trickling in but I don't expect to see the price drop below the 300 dollar mark for an all matching rifle in really pristine shape.
