I need to remove the firing pin as this pistol is packed with cosmoline.
The pin used to retain the firing pin is slotted like a screw on the left side. I can turn this pin freely with a small flat screwdriver.
Do I drive this pin out the left side? Is the slot in the pin to be oriented before driving the pin out?

The pin has two barbs. It needs to have the two sides pushed towards its centre. A small punch or screw driver can be ground to fit.
V it with the tip of v toward handle, the two tips will push on each side of the pin pushing them together. Russians had a tool for this.

So the slot is actually the end of a split pin? And I drive this end through? I've watched a couple of videos but the pin is hidden and I can't see which end gets driven through.
