1947 browning auto 5

so I hunted all the fine print and found a print date of 62 in the manual. so any ideas why the serial number doesn't jive with the browning site? but thanx for all the replies
 
I wouldn't sell that gun for a million dollars. I have my Dad's Tobin double 12. When I was a kid, he would take me out "chicken huntin'" with him. I can still hear him fishing in the box of Imperial Special Long Range, see him getting out of the car, drop two shells in, closing the old Tobin up, taking aim, BOOM! - supper!

I know I have the same memories with my dad and watching him down ducks with his wingmaster. I carried the ww2 ammo bag and handed him shells. that and other guns will never get sold but handed down for sure. I remember cleaning his parker hale 303 with him and him getting crap from my mom for allways cutting up a coat hanger to push a rag down the barrel right in the living room at the coffee table!
 
That's a solid $500 gun, get it reamed to modifies and steel shoot is fine, did mine 2 years ago with hundreds of steel shells thru it. Don't sell it, it's a great gun
 
I would keep it and shot clays with it lots of fun shooting targets and such ,thy do shot slugs well and I have used them for deer as well ,might even make a great turkey gun with the full choke ,for the 400$ to 500$ you would get for it why sell it now ,mayby in years to come you will really need the cash but for now enjoy it for what it is a great shotgun that will out live almost any shotgun you can buy today in the price range ,, .you can hunt rabbits small game deer turkeys crows fox and tons of game with it take it to a few turkey shots you may win a few turkeys ham or bacons with it ,lol ,great gun enjoy it Dutch
