1949 Russian SKSs at Westrifle

As to ammo it is coming. Marstar bringing surplus in August as far as I know and we are bringing new production in September. Mags is in process don't have a date yet.

Regards,

I'm EXTREMELY pleased with the condition of those rifles. They look brand new. Further to mention that my order took only 5 days to arrive. Very well done guys, its been a pleasure.

Whats the availability of more mags, svt tool, and stripper clips? Any word on ammo?

eureka!!! got my 1949 from westrifle .:dancingbanana:

its a refurb 1949, you can clear tell the wood isnt original, the original SN been sanded off and new SN restamped. they cut the groove longer with a hand tool to accommodate the longer spike.

im glad they left the original factory marking, the inspection mark on the right buttstock and also manage to leave one mark around the crossbolt.

top cover and trigger group has glossy black paint unlike the rest of the metal which is lightly painted black but textured, not bad looking.

love the cruciform spike bayo.

overall very pleased. thanks westrifle.

Overall very pleased with my new SKS,alls the main composants match. Westrifle provided a great support, thankyou! its shame that thoses 1949 where repainted during refurb, they would look so nice blued but they are still great looking with their spike bayonet. Now i will have to buy a 1950,1951,1952,1954,1955:)

My top cover has that same dark black look. I was thinking it might be painted? I will have to check when I get home. Congrats on the new toy!

thanks. i think you're right , i looked again at the top cover , it seems to be glossy black paint but its well applied .

i just noticed something different about my 49 mag , it doesnt have a stud for the main spring protruding on the outside (see below), do you guys have the same on your 49?

I just got mine today, very happy with the rifle. I think I might still go over the stock, but the rifle itself is in "wicked-awesome" (to be technical) condition.

I'm happy enough that I was going to post a new thread in the "Wanstalls Section" just to state how happy I am, but I found this one instead.

Curtton, I'm pretty sure I have that stud on my magazine, but I JUST put her to bed in the safe, so I'll check to be sure tomorrow.

I have the stud on my 2 1949 and they have their original mags. Could the stud of your being welded inside instead of riveted? 1 questions for you guys that bought 1949, are you going to shoot them? Since they are refurb, i dont think that will hurt the value but what do you think?
