1949 sks

I have my doubts that any 1949 is truly original and non-refurb. Mine's 100% original right down to the blued muzzle, but it's been inspected at the arsenal and stamped as such, hence "refurb". My offer to pay $2000 for any mint, unrefurb 1949 stands, as it has for years. Nobody has taken me up on it.

What would you pay for a non-mint unrefurb 1949?

Here is the unrefurb 49 sks

Its all matching , has spring loaded firing pin and proper safety , gas block etc.. Wish it was mint but it is used and a bit worn stock wise especially.

Great looking gun! One of the better ones I've seen although I'm quite certain that is not a '49 stock. From the pictures, the #'s on the stock look to match, but it must be scrubbed.

Bayo doesnt look right either. But thanks for sharing she's a beaut regardless.

Stock has the tula star with 1949 under it and acceptance stamp on the opposite side as seen in the pics. No refurb marks or signs of sanding , no refurb marks anywhere on the rifle as a matter of fact. Pretty sure its original unrefurb. Bayo is spiked , blued and 4 prong as it should be.
What makes you say bayo is wrong?

I have a refurb 49 sks that I will post pics below , it has a "scrubbed stock" (sanded/refurb) , note the difference between it and the above original rifle.

Looks pretty darn original to me! Proper contour on the stock, nice spike bayo's!
Sigruns , are there any cartouche around the front cross bolt area? Kinda diamond shape, on the non refurb? Thanks for showing us! How are the bores?

There is one cartouche by the crossbolt that I can make out. Bore on the non refurb is average , rifling is there but looks a little bit worn to me honestly. On the refurb 49 , bore is good , a little wear at the crown but good overall. Neither are rusted or pitted at all which is good.

Yea it looks original to me but there are lots of other sks guys on here that can probably verify, except that philthy guy, he or she doesn't know 1949 sks!

It is stuffed away again and I'm on my cell not at home at the moment. Next time I have it out I'll take more pics. Stock is correct though 100% , first thing I looked at and it's really noticeable next to another sks. Bob even commented on the proper contour. Zoom in on exsisting pics and you can see decent , except for bayonet channel.

I guess you are trying to be funny? FYI 49 stocks don't have Tula star. There's a lot I'm not telling you. Maybe Mr Jones will.

I respectfully have to disagree. 49 original stocks most certainly do have the Tula star from my research (yooper sks , sksboards etc.). If you have a source or article that states otherwise I would be very interested in it. Thxs
