1950 303 Longbranch question

I have a 1950 longbranch with a #3 bolthead. The rifle had not been fired when I got it. The factories all used parts from everywhere, that's the way it was. Don't beat yourself up over this, it's just a rifle!

#1 MkIII rifle bolthead= .649,Headspace=10 Thou. Anybody seen a .649+4 or 5 Thou? one out there.I've been looking for 10 years.

I'm not so worried about the bolt anymore. I'm more worried about the fact that it's parkerized and it's a 92L serial.

Why are you worried? It obviously came from the factory that way. Have you read the 1950 Long Branch survey stickied in this forum? Keep in mind there is only one 92L rifle in the survey, and note the overlap of blued to parkerized rifles.

Yours just happens to be an "early" parkerized rifle.
