1950 sks

Kool, hope to find some Gems somewhere. Does Can. Tire ever get some rare ones on the racks? {just opening a Gun section near me, finally} Where do you buy Crates' of SKS anyway?

Beater, where did you pick up that many crates of SKS's? I'm jealous man, that's pretty cool!

PS. Where's my goat?! I think I should get a Soviet Goat to commemorate this thread.

There are different types of refurb finish I have seen, I believe it is the Russians attempt of Parkerizing, some look really good and some not so much, most of it is very tough for sure! I still like the blueing best but hey, for a shooter, the parkerizing is great as it takes a beating!

actually I have no idea where the bbq paint comes from. the gun itself is nice deep rich blueing topcover is blueing but not as nice. definatly not paint. I can tell you that of the 12-15 crates ive been through ive had 6 as new 53-54 tulas, but this is the only 50 hand inscribed ive actually seen

It looked bubbly to me like the BBQ paint they used. Just a rough surface receiver cover then. My bad. But still heavy refurb so still my opinion for what it is worth is the same as I said before. But thanks for clarifying.

well they aren't available in crates anymore. ive had 10s and 15s lots of places would sell them by the crate all you had to do was ask and have the dollars to do it
