I can assure you that no SKS unissued would have a stock repair behind the receiver like the one pictured. I sold a 1954 Tula in a laminate stock replacement (laminate are all replacements) last year for $650 but that one was super super mint, 2 grades above everything pictured here. The metal was original mirror like. The bluing amazing. You have to try better to impress me guys. $2,000? Yeah sure.





This is mint??? Not trying to put your guns down but refurbished is actually not bad, it is good. And we will never see US prices here and true collectors with money who are looking for specific years and markings. Never gonna happen. SKS here are a million and a half.

That's not a stock repair behind the receiver. Its the contour of where the cover sets into the receiver.

However the darker color of the stock stamps and the heavy fading of the crossbolt and arsenal stamps indicate several strips and refinishes-- which I suspect every Soviet sks stock underwent.

Also, some of the last SKS's produced in Russia did come with original laminate stocks. Nothing made in '53/'54 though.

Take off the gas tube and verify on barrel if marks as Made in CCCP or made in Russia are present. If yes is refurbished one.

That would be a MOSTAR commercial refurb, yes? No need to remove the handguard as MOSTAR also stamps the right side of the receiver with their diamond emblem

LOL you made my day . I was thinking the same thing . you must live near Parkdale LOL . I'm from the west end . now part of your City . we should call up the old members of the Barton Sherman Gang and tell them to straighten those two out who dare to rain on our parade . they are all in retirement homes likely .
