Thought some of you might find this interesting.
It's a 1960 evaluation of the AR-15 at the Aberdeen proving grounds and details accuracy and torture tests.

A very interesting looking find, I have saved a copy and will peruse it closely sometime soon. The date is interesting, as Colt started production of the AR-15 in December, 1959, so basically these were the first rifles Aberdeen could get their hands on that weren't prototypes.

A curious point: Adobe search was unable to find a single reference to "Armalite" or "Colt" in the entire document. You have to go the section on individual weights and measures to even find mention of a serial number.

Hmm... thats is curious. I'm sure if Jesse Venture were here he could give us a crackpot conspiracy theory revolving around it.
I also couldn't help but notice that in one section it's showing # of malfunctions when weapon is fired upside down, left side up etc, and for some reason it didn't malfunction once in a hundred rounds when held left side up. (Made to be 'gangsta' fired perhaps?)
