Hello there, I just purchased a 1962 Belgian made Browning Auto 5 20ga, Lite 20 in absolutely pristine condition. It has 2 barrels, one with a vent rib, and the other with a standard rib. the receiver is immaculate, the bluing is 99% and the wood is 95% I am not a shotgun guy, can anyone give me a value on this gun ?
Thanks

Send me the 300 and I'll send you an autographed picture !!

Laugh2................ you're on the right track then.

There was a combo unit like yours on the Atlantic side of Canada.
I do believe the price was around the mid seven mark.
Of course, taxes and freight would bump that up there a bit.
I don't think a g-note is overly optimistic......just need to find
the right buyer.
Did you see the one in the EE not too long ago?
Frightened me................................................................:sok2

I have a couple of them and they are my favorite shotguns. That is the second time that gun has come up on the EE. I watched both times. For what it's worth I would have paid $900 tops. That gun with 2 barrels is probably worth twice that in the states

thy are great shotguns and one of the few that fit me to a tea ,,I just have a thing for them ,,lol 750$ to 1000$ seems to be the price range for them depending on shape and options ,,magnums choke tubes mod or full barrel it all matters vent rib or a solid rib ,,there is so much that goes in to getting top dollar for them ,,,then again some guys seem to think thy are very rare and want almost 2k for one ,loll show us some pictures please ,,Dutch

That's a gorgeous shotgun. I'm generally not an Auto 5 fan, but would love one in 20g. I already have two other long recoil shotguns, but not a Browning - I love the system.

I have had a few Belgian Browning Auto 5 twenty gauge shotguns. They are indeed very fine firearms.
You say yours is a "lite 20 "........It may be a light weight shotgun compared to some others, but it is not the Browning model called "Light Twenty".........If it were truly a" Light Twenty", you would read that inscription in the position where yours reads "Twenty".
That being said, you also asked for opinions on value.............In Canada with two barrels like yours in that good condition, I would say $ 1200.

I seen that to ,,his says twenty not light ,,,still a nice gun ,I put it at a grand with both barrels ,,,remember it still does not have choke tubes ,,,that's a bummer ,,,,,Dutch

Mine starts at 8Z, meaning 1958 Light.
Just checked the side receiver and I was almost certain it was inscribe "Light"
but not so.

That photo of the loose, non ribbed barrel shows three holes in the magazine tube ring
which is correct for a "Light" version.

My $$ is on Mr. Brewster's typing.

I agree, $1000 would not be out of line. That is a Belgian made Browning and looks to be pretty much as new. Personally I would take a Belgian over a Japanese Browning any day of the week.

Hey, I'll post a few pics of my nearly identical 1964 light 20. It also only says "twenty" and is 4z serial. They didn't say "light twenty" until they started producing the magnum twenty in the 70s. Mine is a 28" full choke. I'd love to find a 26" IC barrel. The full choke has it's uses, but I enjoy the gun so much I'd love to carry it more often with a more open choke. I paid $900 in similar shape to yours, and a second barrel will be around $300, so $1200 is bang on.
