I know a fellow who has a couple of dozen Winchester 94 commemorative models that are NIB. He is getting on in age and is interested in selling them. I'll take a look next time I visit him.

Winchester '94 Commemoratives

I've always favoured the commemoratives with blued or nickel finish receivers & small parts. Like the Cowboy above.

To me, I only own them as "shooters" - no interest in 'collecting' them. And prefer them to be in .30-30 Win.

Personally, I can't stand the gawdy gold finished ones.

In addition to the Cowboy, I have a Legendary Lawmen [which is a trapper length - 16" barrel - SRC].

I also had a Bat Masterson which has the 20" barrel but it was just too pretty to shoot - the stock checkering was like a cheeze grater, too!

Yeah it is a great gun and like the few have posted on here it is harder to find for the most part.

I like the simple look and also the nickel plating on the gun it has flash but it is simple.

I am looking to have it as a collectors piece and add it to the Win Commemoratives I have started to collect.

For a shooter I would use a pre 64 model 94 .30-30 since it is built so strong and also one that is very reliable

I find myself pleasantly surprised by that Cowboy rifle.
As most of the series ( Gold in particular ) make me puke in my mouth a little upon seeing them.
But I'd own that Cowboy Commemorative version.

Thanks for the comment. I am in the beginning stages of the Win Com Collecting. I have 2 (Battle of LBH..Alberta Bi Centennial) and looking to have this one as well.

Is it normal for sellers to ask $800-$950 for 94 commemoratives? I'd love a Klondike myself, but not sure if they are inflated by the seller?

Yeah that is fair depending on the actual gun. I have saw a few gun actions certain Win Commemoratives go well above the 1400.00 mark (John Wayne ...LTD Edition Commemoratives with the matching wooden case..etc)

For the most part they are in the 800 and below for the larger volume editions.

I wouldn't pay over 500 for one . They have no purpose . Like a ###y blow up doll

They actually do have a 'purpose' - as a 'shooter'. Certainly by no means a "pre '64 '94" but, at the right price, I'd take a commemorative [which does not have the later post '64 cross bolt safety] over a post '64 with the cross bolt safety in it.

The Cowboy I have is actually a nice shooter. I only paid 'shooter' price for it [something well under $500].

Personally, I'd never 'collect' them. And no gawdy gold ones would grace my gun rack....lol.... ;)

Just my .02
