1970's Colt

Mint examples go for $1300 on average. You can try $2000 as a start, but I doubt demand is all that high at the kind of price point.

The NIB aspect will only appeal to Colt collectors. The SP1 is the first ever civilian AR and has a lightweight 1/12" barrel, no forward assist or brass deflector, no rail estate, no mag fence, and a large pin forward hole which needs an adapter to mount modern uppers. It's not a bad gun in any way but it's generally the opposite of what people are looking for today.

A Norinco CQ-311 will get you the same gun that shoots just as well and looks less pretty for at least half the cost (and accepts any modern small pin upper), so even as a "starter" AR the SP1 lacks appeal.

$1000-1200 would be realistic being NIB. Most 20" Colt rifles aren't moving on the EE if they're much above that. You could start at $1500 but expect to drop $100 with each bump.

That rifle is a close representation of a Vietnam era rifle. It was made in 1974 Pre-ban. I would think it could easily bring 1500.00- 2000.00 USD. I am no expert on the value, To a collector, the value would probably be more, especially when you have the original box and information documents are present.

Maybe in the US? I would like to see one go for over $3000.00 in Canada. I have a feeling it will be a long time coming.

the US prices are alot different than canadian prices. there they have a cult like following, here more just koolaid drinkers. watch the EE. most sit at the $1200 mark and just fade to the bottom of the pile.

only the Gucci guns get more money, but the seller is usually losing money on it.
