1971 browning auto 5 12gauge?

I got a chance to buy one of these shotguns, it is in mint shape, 2 3/4 chamber,full choke, anyone have experience with one of these? Was made in belgium. guy wants $400 Thanks for any info and no I have no pics

I have 2 Auto 5's, and I think my father has 4 or 5. Never had any issues with them. $400 is a fair price.

Excellent gun I love mine . Nothing points better than an Auto 5
But what do you want to do with it . Can't shoot steel out of a full choke . I have trap & skeet barrels for mine & its great shooting lead 7 1/2"s or # 8's at clay's

This may help you along.

Older Brownings are marked by choke by using a symbol or symbols on the left rear of the barrel.

There are three A-5's here. The last one I wish to make into a
camp gun. If I can find another barrel for it, I will cut it down
and extend the mag tube.
There was one done in the U.S. and it looks pretty mean.
Buying an A-5 for a gift is a generous deed.

It's the only one-barrel shotgun I every liked. Won a bunch of turkeys with one years ago down on the Coast. Great shooting gat.

The Full choke will suck for skeet, but other than that it's a superb gun.

Get IT! I have a minty 69 3" and it is my favorite shotgun. I powder skeet and crush crows with it. I do use some heavy as reloads for crows though. Get it and you won't regret it. Or you could get it and sell it to me.

I love my 1964 A5.

It has a mod choke and I shoot steel at ducks with it.

As already stated many times here, rifled slugs are ok in full chokes, its been done for years with no issues.
