Hey guys,
I've taken it upon myself to pull my fathers old 700 out of the closet and get it shooting again. Unfortunately, it hasn't seen the light of day in over 20 years.
It is completely stock, iron sights only. My father says he's only put 2 rounds through it. He got it brand new as a gift, but told me he never had it sighted in properly. He had a Marlin 444 that he used a lot more at the time.
Inspecting the bolt, I see a slight amount of rust on the bolt face. There is a slight amount in the chamber of the gun as well. Everything is pretty dry.
The only thing I can see myself adding is a scope.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

I think that Quality Control has gone way down at Remington just to keep the cost down and be competitive. Look at all the Express models they are dumping onto the market. I'm not saying that they are no good, but they are just making them cheaper by cutting back on the fit & finishing, materials etc.
