Good one, and nice handguns:D. Thanks for sharing. Shortly after I started out in handguns, I had a Trooper in 22 LR. May be my fading memory but I don't remember any lug under the barrel. A while ago I did have another member of the 'snake' family lined up, an Anaconda but I ended up getting:mad: double delt on the deal. Oh well.............. .

Also, when I really started getting handgun fever:p, I started collecting variations of the Colt New Service. It soon became apparent, collecting wasn't for me so I shed the four I had. If I don't shoot it, it's history.

I get that,

I too am a shooter not a dust collector. None the less I am not much of an impulse buyer, by the time I finally make the decision to purchase I have already grown attached to it. Makes getting rid of stuff difficult but on the upside I will always shoot what I have :D and thus don't have to get rid of them

Don't know about colt vs flask but it looks beast like that. How does it shoot?

Talk about a silky smooth trigger this thing breaks like a light bulb, I surprised the S#!T out of myself with the first single action shot. I managed to put 3 rounds in a hole the size of a toonie at 20m, to answer your question cooey yes this is beast

I have a python as well, love that colt.
I would definitely go with the original barrel
Because the rifling on the original barrel are different.
They are slightly tapper at the muzzle which made the
Gun very accurate.upto to 100 meters.

Very nice:)!! True, but I believe in later production models, that feature that was dropped for cost considerations I was told. They do shoot well though. Here's an off hand target I shot years ago when I was into some the more serious aspects of competitive paper punching.

Barrel Found

Okay so I found an original 8" blued barrel; for sale at a supporting dealer online, which I thought would be nice to have in case I decide to swap it out with the Dlask barrel currently installed.

It looks like it's in good shape but I have two concerns. #1 are all the colt factory blued barrels/framed the same colour or are there different shades depending on the year of production ect? and #2 the barrel has 24tpi and I have no idea how many tpi my frame has? any suggestions/ideas much appreciated:)

Thanks guys,

Joel

Or you can find some competent machinist to reshape that frame to be in the sinc with barrel profile. That way you get custom made quality gun not some Franken gun.
Than just high polish it and you end up with unique design and shape. One of the kind.
