I did not know there were more than one version. Need the one that would be appropriate for a set of 1982 pattern webbing set up for a C1A1 rifle.

The one you want is the long one. That is the long shovel and the long case. The US type was shorter and black. The cases for the US shovel had ALICE clips on the back. I have one here, PM me if you like...

Two different versions, one that could hold the 51 Pat shovel and the other that could hold the 82 PAT shovel.

Hit up David Hiorth at Army Outfitters in Toronto. He is sitting on a large pile of 82 Pattern webbing, and with some forewarning and patience on your part, he can probably find you two or three.

The moulded plastic ones are American, the Brits also issued the American carriers as well
