1987 Glock Gen 1

I’ve been working on a little project for a while now and want to thank everyone on the forum that helped me piece this together. This happened to be my holy grail and the transfer went through with moments to spare. I had always wanted a true Gen 1 Glock 17. Sourcing the box, manuals, gen 1 17 round magazine etc was challenging but I think it turned out well.




 
I've have a fondness for the early Glock, I still like the pebble grip. But I gotta admit it was hard to accept the Glock, I was firmly in the S&W revolver/Colt Commander camp at that time.

My first Glock Armorers Course was for that model. I took that course on the 16th of October, 1990. Back then it was taught by the Police Service Division of Glock. There were so few models and variations that the course was fairly short.

I took that course as well. My first glock was a 23, which I sold shortly thereafter. Still have a 19 and a 20/21 though. - dan
 
nice i have the same box but i think mine is gen 2 pistol Ill try and dig it up and post a pic I don't think I have the paperwork through.
 
Excellent work! I definitely have a factory mag pouch you can get, and I'll check to see if I still have the holster kicking around. Might as well make the kit complete:cool:
 
They're so impersonal, so utilitarian, but who doesn't warm to a Glock? And 'come on, a 1st Gen is just cool.
 
FYI, the early ones didn't have a molded in metal plate for the serial number, the number was molded right into the plastic in the same location. Also they came with a non-captured recoil spring.
