So....last nite, there's my daughter Lily (7 yrs old) & I sitting in the "fort" we had built just 2 wknds prior, She very patiently scanned the open field with my binos as she sat comfortably in her pink Disney Princess chair, when out of the tree line ran 3 nice young does about 300+ yards away to our left. Lily fumbled with the "Doe bleat can" while attempting to make it work it let out a horrifying bleeaawwwaaahhhhhh! To our amazement it actually drew the does to our location, they stopped just shy of 70yds when one turned broadside, I whispered "cover your ears Lil".......then...BOOM!!!! When the smoke from the muzzleloader cleared, there lay a nice sized doe only a mere 40yards from where she was cleanly hit, thru the shoulder, lungs and heart...she was dead on her feet and did'nt even know it for that final dash of her life.
I told Lily, we're done babe! We can go home now! She replied with a kiss and a hug and an expression her face that I'll never forget. But our work just started, she was responsible for holding the spotlight for her dad while he quickly and efficiently field dressed the young doe then she lit up the pathway for our travel back to the truck.
The best hunt I've experienced so far.
Unfortunately I forgot the camera at home as I was too excited to be heading out with my daughter for the 1st time :D:D:D:D:D:D
I used a T/C Encore SS 209x50 with Nikon Omega BDC scope, 300gr SST in an MMP sabot & 110grs loose 777 powder.

Great story and experience huntsman, I'm very happy for you and your girl. I too hunt with my daughter, she's a lot older but nothing brings us closer thatn a good hunt. Keep up the good work....:D
