1st muzzle loader

TC has a lifetime warranty. How about the others?.........................TC gave me two hammers to allow scoping on 30year old plus guns FREE no questions asked........Harold

i had 2 PURSUIT 50 cal. and both had horrible triggers ..if you like a 10lbs. trigger pull get the [TRASH] opps TRADITION ..if you want a quality muzzleloader get a T/C TRIUMPH ... your call...

I think you should follow starpuss's advice.

My Traditions Tracker is pretty good for the cheapest new muzzleloader on the market, as it was then and that was my reason for buying it and I am satisfied. But if I had to replace it, I would prefer to try a T/C Impact rather than a Traditions Pursuit.

I'm a bit of a T/C fan since they have great customer service and warranty policies, and the hardware is pretty decent. I know the Omega is fairly inexpensive and pretty decent, we dialed one in a couple weeks back. The owner was considering the Traditions Pursuit in the blister pack at first until we saw a bit more got you the T/C and we just flipped a coin on it, he ended up walking out with the Omega and it came with a bunch of accessories. Nice sights, easily minute-of-pie-plate offhand at 100 yards.

My first gun was a Traditions Pursuit I sold it a year later and bought a T/C Omega. I like how the balance was on the T/C it was also a nice gun to shoot and accurate to. I just wish it had the speed breech. I would recommend you check out a T/C first you wont go wrong and you will have it for years. Keep it clean like any other black powder gun and it will be good to you. Bass Pro had the T/C Bone collector on for $599.99 in camo I havent held one but Im sure it's a nice gun. Just a tip on bullets my omega like's the new 250g T/C shock wave SUPER GLIDE they are a yellow sabot they work better than the black sabot. Take Care

Just trying to decide between a traditions pursuit xlt or a T/C impact any advice would be much appreciated.

Admittedly, the build quality + overall finish of the TC is much superior compared to the Traditions ML. The TC also has better ergonomics + the iron sights (fibre optic) on the TC are much better as well.

Having said that, I've two friends who own a Pursuilt XLT and a Pursuit LT......I've shot both rifles (equipped with optics) and both handled/performed very well. Frankly, I failed to see a major difference in terms of performance between the Traditions and the TC Triumph that I shot.

I feel the selection process should be more influenced by the firearm that fits you well, suits your taste and budget. Regardless of the brand, I would strongly recommend getting the in-line ML that is equipped with a hand removable breech plug which, IMO, is a great convenience in terms of handling/maintenance in the field or at the range.

You may also check the CVA with the hand removable plug (don't remember the model) that has good reviews. Forgot to mention, I inspected the Impact a couple months ago......given a choice I will opt for the Pursuit XLT over the former :).

I bought an Impact a month ago or so. Feels good easy to clean and a solid build. I already harvested a 6 x 6 with her. Feels right to me in all ways. Hold one in the store. I mounted my scope high to avoid any obstruction with small hammer and break open aspect. Nice gun and with the cheap pineridge scope taxess in all was around 300. Can't beat that. Hope to have it forever. Also I am using Buckhorn 209 with 250 grain hornady sabots. I was told that you could make 20 plus shots without a swab and maintain accuracy. I made 15 without a swab at all between shots and all shots were as accurate as the first. So keep the Buckhorn in mind if you get one.

Peace Jay
