My wife found an affordable place for me to hunt a bucket list animal of mine. Went to Roxton Falls in the beautiful province of Quebec. Nestled in the Appalachian mountains, run by an outstanding outfitter and top of the line guides. Terrain varied from swamp to heavy evergreen forest to rocky appalachians with small water falls, creeks and lakes. On my last afternoon I was lucky enough to line up one of the wiley beasts. 270 Winchester barked and the bull dropped. Truly a great hunt, a great outfit, and great animal that surprised me with their ability to disappear into the woods.

The thread title had me thinking I was going to see a Stag-10 kitted out to resemble a Kalashnikov.

Outfitter was Roxton Falls Wilderness Estate. Outfitter, guides, and cooking staff were all some of the nicest, down to earth people.

Blargon, yes mine was well under 8k

And the meat is excellent!!! Very similar to elk.

Congrats OP! I grew up in the Eastern Townships, while I hate the province, I can honestly say that the Townships and south end of Montérigie is some of the most beautiful country in Canada!
