1st Shotgun :D

The feeding issues will probably be solved by break-in.
My first weekend with my 870 I put probably near 100 rounds through it, and there were a few feeding issues at first. At the end of the weekend, no feeding issues, and there hasn't been any since.

Get rid of those WW Universals... They are about the worst shells on the market. That may help with your jamming issue.

x2 the steel base on them causes trouble with a lot of guns. But I have no problem cycling the cheap Federals and Remington Gun Clubs through my guns.

After my first time shooting it I only did the stupid thing of bringing a box of 25, only have about 30 rounds down mine which is killing me. If only it wasn't a constant -20C.

However no issues. Just clean it, oil it, cycle the crap out of it for a while, clean it again and look for excessive wear, that might be a problem zone. If all looks good then oil it up and try again next time you go shooting. The gun is rather stiff when new.

I called the gun smith today and he thought it could be the Universal ammo too. I am going to do a full disssasembly this weekend and it sounds like it just needs to be broken in with some more shooting. I only shot 5 slugs with the 20 inch barrel so it is hard to say if it was the barrel or not.

I've had a little prob with 2 3/4 cartridges hanging up in my shotguns. I figured out that I wasn't pumping hard enough. You don't need to hammer it, but if you loosen up at the wrong time it'll allow the case mouse to catch sometimes.

P.S. - if you think there's a problem, strip it down to nothing. Also gives you a good idea of how it works, and if there's ever a problem in the woods or at the range, you've already got an idea of what could be causing it.

Sorry, I should have specified. Sometimes the fiber optic sights on the new 870 express had an issue with becoming loose and/or coming off. These are just a couple that I have seen anyway. A little loctite seemed to fix the ones I had seen.
