1st Trap gun opinions?

Hey, i just got my pal and am looking to get into trap. Just looking for a decent o/u. From the research I've done most people say to start with a old used gun. Found one I was considering was just looking for some advice if its a good buy or if I should look at something else. Thanks

You could do worse. The 101 is a good quality ou. Improved cylinder choke isn't considered ideal for trap but isn't a deal breaker at that price.

If trap shooting is your main goal, i suggest you do more research on getting a gun with the right chokes. Generally your taking some pretty long shots in trap shooting, and so personally I'd either look for a gun with screw in chokes or a full/ modified combination. I think some shooters use full/ extra full comes for trap. Of course full/ extra full won't work for skeet shooting. Just my opinion, I'm very far from being much of a trap or skeet shooter. Most importantly you'll need to find a gun that shoots well for you. Some of those intersurplus guns have an adj cheek rest, which might help you as well.l If you get involved at your local gun range you might find some experienced shooters that will help you in your search.

Depends on how serious you want to be...

There's a Miroku for a little $ in F/M
- I'd ask about the "stock has a crack behind the tang"

You might want to ask around at the club, try a few things and see what fits best.

The 101 is a solid gun. Ic choke if you can shoot fast will work on 16 yard trap. The im mod choke is the barrel that would be most useful in trap
Intersurplus has a return policy if you dont like it. I've never personally used it but theyre good ppl to deal with
