I was out testing my new AIA 10 rounder in my M305. The only mods that have been done to it is I replaced the op rod guide for a badger ordnance NM one. Is a 2" 10 round group respectable at 25 yards with Norc 308? Not sure if I should be expecting better or not.

Even 2" at 50Yards since it's a 10 round group doesn't seem too bad overall but 25yards is pistol range my friend. For true rifle results a 100yards or 100m is the norm for groups and a good sight in, at least get out to 50m or better. Try 100m groups for sure, then go a little further if your doing decent. I go out to 300m max myself because I can't hit consistently or decent enough past that, it's my comfort zone for now. I'm sure alot of guys with good glass on their m305/14/1a get out way further of course.

Get a Lead Sled or some other device to completely immobilize the stock. Then you'll see what the rifle is capable of. Anything outside of that is operator. My rifles are amazingly accurate compared to what I cause them to do :)

Sounds good guys. Ill see what I'm getting at 100 yards and I'll sand bag it instead of just resting my elbows on a table and I'll see what I can do. Just curious if that's what I should expect from that ammo or what. Tell you what I get tomorrow.

Yes. Stock norc ones.

It is not bad for stock Norc's with Norco ammo.
The Norinco front and rear sight are always out of spec. You won't have clear sight picture when you look through the rear peep sight. Also, the Norco front sight are always too thick for you to align with the target. Try to use USGI/Springfield iron sight if you plan on shooting this gun in iron or scope it. Try different ammo or reload your own to see if it string up the group. Lots of member here are very experience and I am sure they are very happy to share with you.

Cheese,

Cheese,
When funds allow the plan is to put the m14.ca scout mount, a vortex SPARC and a Choate folder on her. Also when funds permit, chop the barrel and install the m14.ca muzzlebreak.
I feel as though that would be a pretty hand rifle.

Nice! M305/any M14 platform is like a "Black Hole". Lot of us are already deep inside this "Hole" and no way back( don't want to back out cuz so much fun :p).
Please beware!

Cheese,

Here we are at 100 yards. How's that?

Just out of curiosity, why did you shoot the back of the target?
That top group is quite good, a little more trigger time and maybe a thinner front post will tighten up the horizontal stringing, but the verticle is very good!

That bottom group looks like either the elevation shifted on your rear sight or your point of aim did, because you have 2 tight vertical stringed groups, get yourself an M1 rear site and a US made flash hider and sight and decent ammo and you'll be putting all 10 in 2"!!

Considering the ammo, the stock rifle and the bad target that's actually very good Sir.
I'll tell you what somebody else told me a ways back regarding cheap targets, cut a big triangle out of a piece of cardboard, then use a can of spray paint to paint an upside down triangle on your paper.
It's a excellent cheap target, you get the top of your post to the tip of the triangle for elevation hold and you can use the tip of the triangle to the center of your post for windage hold.

Top two groups are great.
Good shooting!

Also don't forget, this is the internet where everyone can shoot sub MOA with iron sights out to 200 meters using an M14 just by swapping out their Chinese bolt with a USGI one and stuff....
Be very leery of peoples "big fish" tall tale shooting skill stories.
