Hey guys, long story short. I have an older 2 3/4 wingmaster with a 28" vent rib fixed full choke.
I traded my 20" deer rifle barrel for a 28" 2 3/4 - 3" express barrel with remchoke. The reason being it was a fair trade and I wanted a new barrel that I can change chokes for duck hunting this fall.

Now I know that wingmaster barrels have a ball detent and express barrels don't. Brownells sells a wave washer like this, but they will not ship to Canada.

Where can I get this in Canada and can anyone else recommend an alternative.

I know someone out there has dealt with the same situation.

Cheers

I have picked up what they call spring washers at a fasterner supplier which is basically the same thing and work fine. If you cannot locate any a rubber 0-ring is better than nothing.

Some, not all, Express barrels were drilled for the spring and detent, but those parts were not installed. If yours is drilled it would be fairly simple to install those parts.

does anyone have one of these? and do you think it would work to lock down the express barrel with a wingmaster detent mag cap?

does anyone have one of these [mag. tube sling attachment with detent ball]? and do you think it would work to lock down the express barrel with a wingmaster detent mag cap?

I've got a similar one, and it don't work all that well. By the end of 25 clays the cap was definitely coming loose. Maybe I coulda cranked it on tighter; I didn't do a lot of testing.

blaster_saber,
I guess you had to but the racket style mag cap and the internal piece that goes into the magazine tube for them to match and properly lock down?

Nope. Got the old Wingmaster at a gun show. Purchased the Express barrel off the boards here, then ordered this product from Bass Pro. Upon further review, it doesnt specify Express/Wingmaster, just says Universal.

Regardless, it holds up to shooting heavy duck loads without loosening.

Best solution is getting the barrel's mag collar drilled and the spring and detent dropped in. not that costly, had it done on one of mine for about $35 at a LGS.

Failing that, finding a washer or using an o-ring is the only recourse.

I did talk to the named importer for the wave washers for Canada (I think it was nicholls) and they told me the minimum order was 500 units -- and I was thinking of going big by buying 3 so I had a couple of spares!

Brownells ships to Canada and their shipping is quite reasonable. Or is. This some how a restricted part?

I've ordered from them over 5 times as have 100's of others.
