Was thinking, the last 2.5 months, i did shoot an awfull lot of AR's...
3500 rounds would be about right... So here the thing, 4 different AR's / 3500 rounds mainly chinese stuff 90%...High quality ammo 10%....
The fact is over all that period and quantity of ammo...I HAVE YET TO HAVE ONE FAILURE....NADA...NONE....
That is a nice fact that the AR's platform is great and the cheap ammo is not so bad afterall.... JP.
PS: All my AR get the Froglube treatment... This stuff is a must for shooting mucho AR and it make cleaning sooo easy....

Thought the discussion on Norc ammo was the inconsistent bullet size... which is more likely to prematurely wear out the rifling rather than a failure.

Froglube are pretty bad stuff especially in the cold. Saw a guy's DD AR at the gunsmith this weekend and it was gumming up his BCG big time.

it'll probably be a little different with your new GAP AR...this one might be very tight. that's the cool part with mil spec semis; it rarely FTF.however, you should expect a custom spec AR with the GAP, so it might be very tight, then the break in will see some FTF. not alarming since we know it'll loosen up with use....and i know that one will see aLOT of ammo;)...

BTW,which one you prfer among the ones you have ???

For top accuracy, the Armalite AR-10T belong on a top shelve, for pure fun factor and still very good accuracy, the DD MK18 is far in front, and it do that with ammo at .20 cents a rounds... About the same price of 22LR with Match ammo with a zillion times the fun factor.... JP.

We ear a lot of things, nothing like trial and error system to make up your own mind and really see what's it's all about.... In my book that is... JP.

I'm itching to hear Caramel's feedback of that GAP as well. There was a little segment on the Gun&Ammo episode last week. They shot 3rnds into a single hole at 100yrds.

I may add my DPMS Panther HBAR LR AR-10 is less accurate than my Armalite but with top factory ammo ii is an easy MOA rifle, i guess the AR platform is inhenritely accurate.... JP.

Feed the DPMS LR-308 167 Lapua match ammo (off the shelf). Mine shoots exceptionally with that stuff. Providing of course you tossed the garbage stock trigger in the garbage. Should put the DPMS into Armalite accuracy range. The build quality is a different story.

Also the new G2 DPMS are something to take a look at eventually. Especially in the 16" Recon. The build quality is night and day over the previous LR308 rifles.

The AR rifle becomes an adiction. Especially the 308 ones. Previously it was easy to own most of the 308 ones. But in the last few years that had changed.

I should be in the big leage with the GAP-10 i am having build for me with all the options... And you are right about the addiction.... JP.
