2 day gunshow, Chilliwack, BC , I'll be there with the tools

No offense meant to M14Doctor, there was an older gentleman at the show with his two sons that seemed to specialize in M14s, Garands and M1 carbines. He had a Yugo M48 Mauser that he was asking $800 for-about twice what Frontier Firearms sells theirs for.....(he was going to "give me a good deal on it for $750...")
I saw that sort of thing a lot at the Chilliwack show. A table with refurbed laminated SKS's going for a mere $600 each (I bought one from Lever Firearms for $240), a black spray painted Norinco SKS for $450 (Tradex sells unissued Chinese milsurp Type 56s for $189), a deactivated, mismatched SMLE #1 Mk3 for $500....it really is worth doing your research on forums like this and on all the other resources online so that you don't get burned on "hard to find/one of a kind" pieces of junk.
I myself got a good deal on a matching Finnish Mosin Nagant (M91) with a pristine bore and flawless stock for $160 at the show. I have seen the same sort of rifle for sale in the USA for $250 and up-it really does pay to do your homework, and I just can't respect anyone who will shamelessly try and rip off unsuspecting people. But, there is no shortage of them I guess...

Are you the guy that was trying to sell the Yugo M48 for $800? If so, shame on you....if not-pardon my impertinence!

Satain that funny

And collector..... Not me sir.
I ONLY deal with M1A/M14 type rifles and do not often sell firearms at the gunshows.
I do know of the guy you are talking about, they were on the far opposite aisle as myself.

The other possibility, of course, is that his wife told him he had to sell some of his guns. So, being a good husband, he put them up for sale. Not his fault if no one was interested, is it? What a great husband!

:)

M14Doctor, I hope I didn't offend you in any way by my postings. After hearing what the guy wanted for the Yugo, I was afraid to ask the prices on his other items. He had a piss poor condition walnut USGI M14 stock that he wanted $150 for, I heard another guy ask him the price.
It's a damn shame that Numrich won't sell their MilSurp M14 stocks to Canadians, they have them in good shape (wood and fiberglass) for next to nothing...

No offense my friend ;)
And yes, those guys were asking premium plus for everything on the table.
His eyes popped when he walked by my table and handled my Demo rig, shortened, A6 brake, volters dovetail gas lock
Utg rail, M14S-CQB fiberglass stocks....
We were at the end of the west building near the concession

I too saw the table with the "older gentleman" selling M1's,M14's,.and the $800/Yugo Mauser,...its amazing what you see and hear at these shows..i really like the story i overheard from a fellow with a No.5 "Jungle Carbine"...i heard him tell a young fellow interested in the No.5 , that these rifles were issued to Australian paratroopers,..who promply removed the flash-hider.."makes it handier in the jungle:runaway::runaway::confused::confused:

Thomas, are you coming up to Kamloops this year?

No, I will not have time, I'm a VERY busy man these days.
Chilliwack was easy for me , a 20 or so minute drive.
I have a tonne of custom work to get done by end of april so no days off for me... Literally.
New stock production starts in may as well so need to keep the nose to the stone for all of april.
