2 Gauge Shotgun

Those big ol punt guns were why market hunting was so succesful back in the 1800s, and why they are outlawed now. Entire flocks of ducks could be brought to bag with 1/2 pound of shot. I still like them and would love to see one of those in person. I have seen 8 gauge and 4 gauge shot guns but not the 2 bore.
 
They would be very effective where there are big flocks but not nearly as useful with small flocks and particularly if seagulls or low limit ducks are mixed in. They are still legal in England with a maximum bore of 1 1/2" but unless I am mistaken, owners may only get one or two shots in a year in part because of the risk of taking excessive numbers of low limit ducks or of killing non game species
