Well I happen to be one of the "idiots" and while I wasn't stupid enough to be a "zipperhead" , I'm sure we have all had our moments. Also IPSC and IDPA shooters are NOT BANNED from our matches, but are encouraged to come on out and have some fun.

Based upon the e-mail from the executive of the Medicine Hat Rifle and Revolver Club to the Section Coordinator of IPSC Alberta I for one have been left with the impression that neither IPSC nor IDPA shooters are welcome. That impression has to do with the line in the letter regarding "shock and disgust" expressed by members of the Medicine Hat Rifle and Revolver Club in relation to having an IPSC match at their range (or from being associated with IPSC in any way?).

It is really unfortunate that people who partake in the shooting sports would take an attitude where "their" type of shooting is better than someone else's and would express shock and disgust about another shooting discipline. That attitude directly contributes to the loss of shooters, regardless of shooting style. That isn't good for any of us, and frankly I find it offensive. For that reason I will not attend any function at the Medicine Hat Rifle and Revolver Club until the attitude of the membership and the executive changes.

As the head of the Pistol Committee for the Medicine Hat Rifle & Revolver Club, I can assure you that I did not initiate any letter to you. As for electing a new executive, the annual general meeting is scheduled for December, and changes are expected. In the meantime, we endevour to put on a fun and challenging match for all participants. Please do us the honour of attending and finding out yourself. As you know, setting up a good match takes the efforts of a number of participants, not just one.
