so, I figured I'd give everyone a heads up on this to let people gear up.

Because im not running full steel matches all winter (practice is still going to be going) I'm going to run some fun stuff instead involving steel, and 2 gun steel it is.

you need a pistol and a 12 gauge shotgun

There is no way im dealing with paper targets in the winter, so the stages will be all steel, falling steel and clay pigeons.

classes will be:
Tactical:any pistol, any shotgun. No optics, comps, shotgun speed loaders or mag fed shotguns

Open: Whatever you feel like doing, do it (as long as you can keep it safe)

He-Man: .45acp pistols and pump shotguns only, all other rules apply from tactical as well.

Revolver: 6 shot revolvers only, shotguns same rules as tactical.

IPSC safety rules apply, so you will be DQ'd for breaking them.

shotgun or pistol will be placed after use, so no sling required and no reholstering on the clock.

no sling required, if you need your shotgun later in the stage it will be staged for you to pick up there.

when placed, guns must either have the saftey on or be empty with the action locked open

one note, you may have to start a stage with your shotgun then use your pistol, so make sure your holster is tight enough that it can stand up to all the movement.

drop leg holsters are legal

more posts to come about scoring, but it will be 100% time based with penalties adding x amount of time.

No BB required, but you do still have to be safe (obviously). Unlike the steel challenge matches this will involve lots of moving around the stage so be ready for it.

For anyone just starting and wanting to pick up a bit of confidence, Slavex does a skills and drills course every week that i would recommend, its $20 so cheap.\

looking to do the first match in late Oct

I am SOOOO up for this. Finally! Something to use my shortie barrel 870 Express for other than simply shredding paper and grinning a lot.

Would we be using a sling and transitions or would the shotgun be placed?

For max safety I'm sort of thinking placed and no holstering once drawn for the handgun. But I await your illumination on the subject.... :D

yep thats exactly it, shotgun or pistol will be placed after use.

no sling required, if you use your pistol first and then your shotgun it will be staged for you where you need it

when placed, guns must either have the saftey on or be empty with the action locked open

one note, you may have to start a stage with your shotgun then use your pistol, so make sure your holster is tight enough that it can stand up to all the movement.

also, drop leg holsters are legal
