2 Inch Mortar Round Identification

A friend of mine dropped off a 2 inch mortar round today and I need some help identifying it.
Its dark green with a red band 1/3" wide and an 1 1/4" from the top.
The round is marked
2" MOR. II
Wt/C. 9/42
LOT 8 6 1
S.R. 269

Anyone have information on it?
