I have narrowed my search for a new scope down to 2. Vortex Crossfire 2 6-18x44 and Vortex crossfire 2 6-24x50.

Most of my shooting happens from a bench between 100 and 300 yards.

Any one out there any any experience with either of these scopes?

Or maybe a suggestion on a different scope in the same price range.

Thanks

I have a Crossfire 2 6-18 x 44 on a .223. Its a decent scope for the price.
I have a Redfield Revenge 6 18 x 44 on a .308
The Redfield is a much better scope.
They both cost around the same.

I'd suggest looking at the Diamondback HP 4-16x44. A little less magnification, and a little more expensive, but better quality glass and internals, and it has a side focus rather than adjustable objective.

I shoot a 18-32x50 Crossfire on a factory .223. Unreal value IMO. No idea about higher recoiling calibers but at around 1000 rounds I'll never sell the scope.

I have the 6-18x44 crossfire ii. I have it on a 22 bolt gun. I have the plain cross hair reticle. I find it quite thick and obscures the target on higher magnification. I will keep it on my 22 as it does what I need it to. Wouldn't use it for anything bigger

Have the Xfire II 6-24x50. Not as clear as the Diamondback 4-12, but pretty good value for the money. The X fire is on my Evo Scout and staying there.

I bought the 6-18 instead of the 6-24 as I read somewhere that they had some parallax error above 18x so a waste of the extra zoom in the 24x, and it was on sale for $100 less.

either way I really like the scope for the price, I have the BDC reticle, its a lot thinner then the crosshair 1 in the middle. I like it better then the Burris fullfield and Nikon prostaff that I had previously.

I have the cross fire II in 6x24-50 with the BDC reticle which is more money but a much finer reticle for target shooting.I had it on my savage TR 22lr all summer and used it out too 200yds consistantly.Scope tracks very well as I was always playing with the elevation turret. Its presently on my Vanguard 2 in 223 and working just as awsome on that rig ringing the gong at 300yds and taking its first 4 point White tail with a neck shot at 75 yds on the weekend.Great scope for the price not as clear as my sightron 6x24 but it was less than half the price.I paid only $319 for it in the spring I wish I had bought 2 for that price.Avoid the V plex the reticle is way too thick.
