my daughter started hunting deer last year, getting drawn for mulie. Our 2nd day out she took this guy at just over 100 yds with one shot from her 243 browning blr.
this saturday we went out for her second day of hunting this year, looking for whitetail. We saw a few and she passed on one because she couldn't get a steady shot because of the wind. We found this guy a few minutes later and she took him at 90 yards with one shot, bang flop.
well another year and we are out hunting moose, we have antlerless tags. We spotted a cow and calf by a bluff about half a mile away, as we had already messed up stalks on to other moose we waited and watched for about half an hour. We decided that Megan and I would circle to the west and set up in a bluff next to where we had seen the moose, and my brother would circle to the east and push them towards us. they broke out about 250 yrds away and headed south, thought we had messed up again but then they turn and started right towards us. When the cow was about 80 yrds I stood up so she wouldn't run over us. She turned to our left, went about 20 yrds and stopped to look for her calves. Megan put a 120 grain barnes bullet from her 6.5x55 thru her lower shoulder and then thru her heart. She ran about 20 yrds and spun around and collapsed.
