20" 338WM Vanguard reloading experience?

Any 20" 338 would apply. Got this factory carbine on trade, handiest rifle in the cabinet. Probably a Boyd's stock and timmney trigger in the future. I'm not concerned about losing 100fps or a little extra noise. Recoil won't be any worse that a Mossberg Patriot launching a 270gr@2700. I'll probably tend toward lighter for caliber bullets in this one. Not trying to recreate the 375H&H, got one. Anything that you found worked for you? Thanks.

Been reading online. Might be better off (less fps loss) to go heavier with the bullets in a short barrel. I hope this journey doesn't end with my 375 collecting dust in the safe.... That 25 1/2" barrel sure is miserable to carry in the willows.
