20" bbls on carbine lowers

I am asking about the reliability of putting a full 20" bbl on a carbine lower and what if any mods would have to be done to the buffer or spring. I currently have a 16" bbl with the carbine length gas system running on it now with the standard AR bolt carrier.

Nothing needs to be done. Carbine stocks(collapsible) require carbine length buffers and springs, thats it.

No worries, you're good to go. This is one of the beauty's of the AR15 design.

You may want to look at a heavier buttstock such as the VLTOR E-MOD to balance the rifle, other than that it will be good to go.
