Hi, I was wondering if one could re-barrel a 223wssm browning a-bolt (or other) to the same case necked down to 20 cal? I'm guessing you would need a custom reamer and a barrel blank? What would the cost be and what you do for dies, both sizing and seating?

Yup, custom reamer and barrel, dies are like available for RCBS, or can be custom ordered from Lee, RCBS, Redding, etc..
Have fun, the WSSM brass is the WORST I have ever had the pleasure of working with when it comes to wildcats!

Any velocity increase over a 20-250 would be insignificant. The 20-250 has a variety of great brass choices, will feed smoothly. It is a better choice and still very much a wildcat with blistering speed.

I have an opportunity to buy a 223wssm at a good price and was just curious. I am currently shooting a .204 and love it. I here what you say about the 22-250, great gun. Is the 223wssm brass hard to work with as well?

Something that might not be so extreme would be the 20BR. That should give a boost of a few hundred fps.

Not too many bullets enjoying going beyond 4200fps.

Let us know how it turns out if you go ahead.
