20 ga slug recommendations

Recently picked up the Savage 220 slug gun and wondering what ammo types everyone is using and why they like them. I am currently using the Remington AccuTip 3" and have had some decent results.

Unless your supply of Remington Accutips has dried up I wouldn't be looking for something else to try...
You know, kinda like window shopping for a new car or truck when the one you are driving fits the bill you use it for is working perfectly.
The rabbit hole gets deep and then more expensive .
Did I mention deeper ?
But, if you are searching for good clean bragging fun then all means fill your boots, but second guessing will drive you insane .

My Savage 220 likes the 2.75" AccuTips better than the 3" and it is not that accurate with the Hornady SSTs. Expensive to test but I'm sticking with the 2.75" with my gun. Rather have the slightly better accuracy vs the 50 ft/s or so of speed difference.

Haha seems like Solid advice, let's call it second hand research. I am old enough that I don't need to learn all my lessons the hard way my knees hurt enough already. With the way the ammo market is these days was hoping to get ahead of any potential shortages and narrow my testing options to the best based on other people's field data.

Federal trophy copper is another option. I bought 5 boxes about 5 years ago when I couldn't find Accutips.

I havnt tried them in mine, But I've heard good things reading online. I found a horde of 3" accutips and I have about 20 boxes now so I'm good for life I think 🤣20250930_144223.jpg
