20 gauge defensive shotgun

Hi all,

I’m looking to buy a 20 gauge defensive style shotgun. Short barrel (18.5 inches), semi auto (although I would settle for a pump), traditional pistol grip, synthetic stock.

Anyone have any good ideas as for makes and models?

I think you may have more luck finding a 12g that fits your criteria, I think Canam has a sale on some Turkish 20g pumps and semis with shorter barrels but I don’t know how reliable they are.

Lighter gun for sure
but you will hear some arguments about the less recoil though.

Not saying i disagree. my 13yr shoots 20ga and 1/2 that is physiological that it will kick less so he doesn't flinch

Correction...who do you think you need to defend yourself from, and why? Personally I don't know anyone in this country who has ever needed to defend themselves in their own home with deadly force. Gang bangers, yes. Druggies, yes. Ordinary honest citizens, no. Maybe someone needs to rethink their choice of friends and associates or just come back to the real world.

that could mean 100 different things and none of them are my business.....

Just because you haven't met them, doesn't mean there haven't been plenty of good people faced with said scenario. Your logic is puzzling at best.
 
Take a look at the Ricol 2016. It has many advantages and only one disadvantage: only 2 shots, but it is much shorter, simpler etc.

But it still packs a kick especially with slugs, so adding a cheek pad/rest and recoil pad would be highly recommended.

i know of several people in our rural area who have been threatened and roughed up during robberies by armed thieves. an elderly couple were killed by a thief and murderer.a cousin of mine was killed coming home from a shopping trip after being forced to the side of the road. none of these people were leading anything other than normal lives and were not involved in criminal activity. this is the real world .
