Hello fellow gunnutz! Looking for a supplier of 20 Gauge Bulk ammo (steel) good enough for clays and Hungarian partridge. My on-line search has been unsuccessful. It will need to be mailed to Nova Scotia and will come out the end of an old Cooey fixed choke break action.
Thank you in advance for any help you may provide.

Just wondering where the op is going to legally hunt hungarian partridge in Nova Scotia . As they are a protected species here . The gundealer can supply you with steel target loads with shipping by courier to your door how ever shipping is probably not cheap .

Ha ha you would be hard pushed to find a pheasant preserve in this province let alone one with huns .Preserve hunting?
Is steel shot mandatory for upland game bird hunting in Nova Scotia?
Not if you know the right people. Like Ron Joyce the founder of Tim Hortons.Ha ha you would be hard pushed to find a pheasant preserve in this province let alone one with huns .
The 350-acre private hunting reserve is complete with wooded areas, grassy fields, ponds and most importantly abundant ring-necked pheasant and Hungarian partridge during season.

Maybe the OP has a trip planned there this fall. Although it would be rarefied company and probably not the spot for a single-shot Cooey.![]()

I stayed at Foxharbr about 10 years ago for three days. Shooting program wasn't developed yet...we played golf. There was the guy I was with and a older couple (recently retired CEO of one of the big five banks.
It was a bit bizarre.....we were the only 4 people on the golf course. We were the only people eating in the dining room. The 4 of us ended up eating together each night and one evening Ron Joyce appeared and had dinner with us. Ron and my buddy and I ended up drinking fairly heavily. Ron can pack them back. Anyway, he ended up giving us a tour of his recently completed home on the property and the six yacht harbour he had blasted out of the bedrock. Bloody amazing what money can do.
Anyway, my point? Ron is a hell of a guy who may have lots of money but is still remarkably down to earth. I'd feel fine shooting any gun at Ron's place. If you don't, that's your loss.
Joyce is down to earth. I've been at a small private Ontario club when he's been there. Life of the party. I don't recall what he was shooting but am fairly certain it wasn't a Cooey.Ron is a hell of a guy who may have lots of money but is still remarkably down to earth. Just a fyi you cannot mail ammo to nova scotia nor can your fixed choked cooey shoot steel without some choke work since it is probally full choke
Cheers
Whoever is stupid enough to put ammunition in the mail is taking a risk. If it's a business, then they are total idiots for taking the risk that could jeopardize their business.News to me since I get all my ammo mailed to NS because every place in this bloody province wants to charge ridiculous prices for ammo, even after eating shipping costs it's always cheaper to get ammo mailed here.

When you say "mail" are you referring to Canada Post, or using mail as a generic term for shipping packages, because I am referring to the latter, using carriers such as Canpar/UPS etc. to ship/mail ammunition. This is the legal way to do it.
