Hey y'all,
I'm looking for a Canadian supplier that carries 20 Gauge 2.5" ammo.
It's considered "traditional" hunting ammo by the British, mostly used for bird hunting with side by sides.
I really just wanted to get my hand on a few boxes for my SHTF kit because my Mossberg will be able to hold a fourth round in the tube.
Any Leads on where I can find these exotic little shells here up North will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys

PS: You could probably Hand Load these, but I never have reloaded shotgun shells, not worth the effort IMO.

Try Prophet River in Lloydminster, they have or can get Gamebore 2 1/2" ammo. Closer to home for you, try the big Calgary gun show in April, should be a few boxes there somewhere.

Does Alberta not have a 3 shot restriction in total for hunting? Ontario does and if you were to use a mini shell to get that extra round in would make you illegal when it comes to the hunting laws. If you have 2.5" shells for the purpose of fitting more in your gun and the shells you have while out hunting gives you more shots then you are allowed then you are making yourself illegal, not any different than pulling the plug out of the gun.

I think the limit for the Tube is actually 2, plus the the one in the chamber. I could be wrong though, as I don't hunt or intend to.
Thank you for the concern though, I appreciate the heads up, as I wouldn't want to cross any legal boundries.

Ya, 2 in the tube and 1 in the mag for hunting, 3 in total is how it is written in Ontario. If you have a 3.5in chamber you can fit 2 3.5" rounds, so 7", 2.5" shells would not stretch things out unless the plug is short but someone makes 2" shells and that would make it possible to stretch out your shots.

I love taking the plug out for range fun, for that purpose it would be cool, that and hunting with a traditional gun. Trust me, nothing smells quite as nice as paper shells fired off after a grouse out of an 80 year old gun :D
