Hi Guys

My first post in the shotgun section.

I don't do much shooting with a shotgun, having said that, I have a soft spot for the upland (strait stock) semi autos.

I was thinking 20 gauge. Thanks to wallmart the ammo is almost as cheap as 12, and for the type of stuff I do around the barn and hand trap, I figure why lug a big 12 around.

I figure I am either going with the Remington 11-87 upland or the Browning gold upland. Both have changeble chokes, the Rem is 23'' the Browning 24'' or in 26"

The only thing that worries me, both catalogues talk about how great their gas systems and their parts work, but they both have in brackets afterwards (12 Gauge only) :?

Anybody have experience with either, or both?

Thanks

I would like to know if these little Upland shotguns will cycle a light 20ga skeet load (walmart bulk packs) I have been looking hard at the Browning BPS upland for a while now, but semi's do have thier niche in shotgunning.......

I have a 20 gauge Remington 1187 Sportsman and it cycles light target loads and the Walmart econo ammo without any problems. I use it for upland. Parts and accessories are cheap and easy to find. I have easily fired about 250 rounds of the Walmart ammo without any hiccups. I do suggest that anytime you can, clean the gun after use do so. But I have shot it dirty without any problems. The finish is that same stuff they put on the Express models ( not impresed) For me it was a cost issue. The Beretta is twice as much as the Remington but still a great gun.
