What I'm getting at, is can you interchange barrel and/or stocks between two new 20 Gauge Remy form the Youth model and the Full size model?
Does the youth model have a smaller receiver?
This gun is for my young son for birds and clay targets and would like to upgrade to a full size deer hunting rig in a couple of years.
Thanks guys,
Regards, Ghunter

If it's an 1187 youth then the cost of getting a barrel (ie 26-28 inch) is about 300 to 400 dollars. Pretty pricy when the gun new is about 600. The stock will interchange with the full adult sized one from the same gauge gun or you can just buy a stock spacer from Brownell's for a couple of bucks and extend the length of pull. I had one for my son and for that kind of money and bother I sold the shotgun for about what I paid for it and got him a full sized one.

I was looking at the Mod. 870 and trying to figure out if stock and barrel are intercheable or buy the full size and replace the stock like Rick B just mentionned.
Thanks,
