whats the deal with 20 moa rails? If i understand correctly they give you 20 moa off elevation before you even get the scope installed... sonds great for the long distances but our range is just 100 yds, wouldnt i be shooting 20 in too high and run out off adjustments on my scope to correct it? I want to get a full lenght rail for my 700 but im not sure if i can go with a 20 moa rail. I guess i need some input on this one

You are correct in your assesment of the use of 20 moa or in fact any canted base. These bases are intended for long range shooting so that the user can adjust the scope for long range by holding at the center of the reticle. The down side of course is the inability to zero at closer ranges like 100 yds. There are several full length rails available for the Rem 700 that are flat and have no cant. Phil.

I have never had a problem with 20 MOA rail..shooting at 100 yards,,and I am sure that goes for 100% of other shooters

We have had some instances of mounting 20 moa bases and not being able to zero at 100 yds. The type of scope, height of rings and rifle will all contribute to this. If I was never going to shoot over 100 yds I would not not install a 20 moa base. This is assuming you are going to use the center of the reticle as the hold point and not a lower portion of the reticle. Phil.

Flat base will work best for your application. Several 1pc flat base options to offer.

If you haven't bought your glass yet you can find some scopes with enough adjustment that you do not need to have your base canted. That to me would be the simplest way to achieve what you want and have the ability to zero at 100 as well as longer ranges.

thanks for the reply's. I'll try to get a flat base if i can find a nice one.
I do have a scope already, just a cheap bushnell banner 6-24x50 with mildots, I will upgrade in the future.
Mystic i sent you a PM on your bases offer.
