Hi, I'm looking at buying a Savage Model 10 Precision Carbine in .223. I want to pickup a picatinny rail for it but the place where I'm buying it only has 20 MOA rails in stock. My question is, if I get the 20 MOA, will I have any problems zeroing the scope at say 100 or 200 yards? Thanks very much.

You need to have a scope in the equation as well as an idea of how far you will be shooting. Any scope with a decent amount of elevation adjustment should easily allow you to zero @100. If you don't plan on shooting past 500 yards go with a zero MOA rail...there's plenty of them out there.

Yes, I forgot to mention the scope. It's a Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16x50.

You have an adjustment range of 50 inches @ 100 yards with that scope...around 70 is desirable on a scope used for long range.
So what's the max distance you want to shoot? I would recommend the 20 MOA rail with a set of signature ZEE rings from MysticPrecision. You then have additional adjustment in the form of inserts if you want to shoot way out there.
However, I say again if you're not planning on shooting past 5-600 yards just grab a 0 MOA rail and be done with it. They are more than readily available.
Allen Gun Works (banner above) is blowing out EGW 0 MOA rails for 50$.

I'm not planning on shooting past 500 yards so the 0 moa rail might be better.

Much better to buy a rail that will allow you to do all of the distances. I have a 20moa Farrell rail that allows me to shoot to 1025+ yards and maintain a zero at 100 yards using a Bushnell with 46moa of total travel (on a Savage 10 Precision Carbine) Spend the money once as you dont need to limit yourself;) Mystic Precision has them in stock for $100 See banner at the top^ Have fun shooting:D
