20 year old powder and reloads

Logic prevails, not worth trying to save. I gotta pull em anyway before disposal. Maybe I will tumble and reload a few rounds to see if primers and powder are still good.

OH DAMN if there is even a minor chance of a double charge DON'T SHOOT ANY OF THEM its been 20 years and if his memory is fuzz, i retract my previous statements. Bullet and case variations explainn alot but not in this case, no choice but to pull them sadly
 
Update.
So I pulled 100 of the old hand loads. Wasn't too bad, just a bit of old powder flying out of the puller. Kept the old Federal primers in, tumbled the brass, and resized before reloading. The old 8lb drum of Win231 is still good, woot! I don't care to shoot lead but I thought I'd try 10 to see how they fly. Loaded 10 with plated too. Will see how they shoot.

I would throw the ammo in the garbage. brass is cheap to replace. The powder should be just fine to use.

I don't pull bad pistol ammo. Too much aggravation. My range has a disposal drum for bad ammo.
 
If you do pull the bullets, you will find it a lot easier if you seat them just a bit deeper to break the seal that has formed between the bullet and the case over the years. It only takes a few thousandths movement, and you will actually feel and hear the seal break.

They will pull out much easier after that.

So of the 20 rounds I pulled, tumbled, resized and reloaded they all shot fine. I loaded 10 with the original SWC lead and 10 with Berry plated flat nose. Kept the 20 year old Fed primers and used the 20 year old Win 231 powder. Powder shoots a bit smokey with plated bullets, but the lead SWC were really smokey - but the hole they made!!! sweet. I'll just pull the other 200 rounds and use the lead again.

The smoke is from the lube on the lead bullets.

231 is a powder that is cleanest at near max pressure, at lower pressure it tends to get smokey.
