200 grain Speers....

FWIW I load the 200gr Accubond in my .300H&H for deer. It shoots end-to-end on big bucks. I've shot 2 whitetails with it, both facing me and I couldn't recover bullets from either buck, they went right on through.

I was going to try the Speer 'cause there so cheap and if they preform on game and fly straight..why not. That bullet has a good reputation in the heavier calibers (35 in the Whelen) I thought maybe it would work well in the 300H&H as it's not a super duper speedster...However the Accubond is probably the better choice by the sounds of it.

As far as Speer bullets go generally, I've used them for years in the .277, 130gr and 150gr variety on big game in the Yukon, including moose, and I've never had a problem. I actually just purchased two more boxes of 100.

I have used the 200 gr Speer spitzer in the 300 H&H at 2800+, and and seen them used in the 30-06 at 2600 fps, with never a problem. One of the most accurate 30 cal bullets, and certainly more than enough for any big game animal we have up here, including woods bison weighing over a ton.

The 35 Whelen places a whole lot less demand on a bullet.
The 300H&H has the same powder capacity as the 300Win so creates the same impact forces.

The Accbond is a fantastic bullet for sure.
If you prefer Monty Python like carnage try the 200gr Partition.

Way back before the premiuns I used the 200 Nosler in my 300 mags. I also used the 200 Speer at that time. I shot a few Deer with it, killed them very dead but did come apart some.

I've used them for years along with partitions and have shot 2 moose with the speer's both went through never recovered both broadside shots shot placement is always important slipp
