Out of curiosity how many did you look at? What were the bores like?

I looked at 2 as Jr. G.I. Joe is a stickler when it comes to looking at surplus rifles. Any more and he says pay for the hand select and they'll pull one for you. I didn't want to take that gamble and have to settle for what they chose for me. As for the bore, I tried to look down the tube, but even with a light, the cosmo inside made it tough...turned out great though.

As I posted in the other thread.

Just got home with 2 1940 SVT-40's. 12 port muzzle breaks, notched for scope mounts, some nice X X X X X X 's carved into both stocks that I will presume are kill counts.

The bolts on both the rifles are a really nice bronze/copper tone. Stocks # matches receiver numbers, mags are totally random as expected.

$445 and some change , compared to $680 area I am VERY HAPPY!! :D :D

Time to rip the guns apart and get the cosmo out of them so I can shoot these next weekend. :)

YOU BUY NOW!! Pricing is perfect!

Went in and bought one today from them. Both of the guys I talked to at the desk were friendly and helpful. Kind of took me off guard because they catch a lot of flak around here so I was expecting the worst.

I phoned in my credit card and resisted switching to the hand select. The guy who answered the phone was friendly and told me it should ship today which it did. Now just gotta wait for the canpar truck in a few days.

I should have added that I also had a very positive experience. Went with hand select, so I am assuming that's the hold up in shipping seeing as It was ordered Saturday and they are most likely very backed up.

Yeah, I ordered in Saturday too and haven't got a shipping notification yet but I'm assuming everyone ordered Saturday and they're busy busy

Interesting, thanks. Might have to pony up for the hand select to ensure I don't end up with a smoothbore

I got mine in the mail today, it came super quick.

Stupid question though but how much rust should be on one of these? There is rust on the trigger guard and a couple other spots. I haven’t had a lot of refurbished rifles so im not sure what to expect.

They should not have rust on them. Your SVT was not stored properly.

It will clean up easily enough, the bore is what really matters.

I'm just curious but Jonersmack did you opt for the extra $25 "hand select" option when you ordered your rifle? And for the record I'm not trying to stir sh!t here I'm just curious as I will be purchasing one of these as well and I'm just trying to figure out the best route to go thanks;)
