$200 SVT 40s!

My 1940 Izzy with all matching serial numbers (except the mag) showed up yesterday. Spent the better part of the evening cleaning it up.
The wood grain is beautiful, the bore is great and there wasn't a single repair to the stock. Most definitely worth the extra $25 to have it hand selected.
I hope everyone else has the same luck of the draw that I did!

Do you blame them? If everyone is willing to pay a huge premium , why wouldn't they. Still waiting for the forgeries to hit the market, like every other type of collectable.
 
Queues grinder - what are you talking about? :stirthepot2: I'm reading here, from what it sounds, the magazines electro-pencilled numbers are different; is that most common?
 
I like the way some mags restricted to 5 rounds - without cutting and ugly pinning, just by extending follower. Nice and clean job. Now when/if our government allows us 6 round we will just file those extenders a little bit, no need to re-pin. And when/if zombie apocalypse we will just cut extenders all the way to the follower. Somebody is thinking about us! :)

Maybe you are right about them jacking up the price and I don't blame them one bit, they are dealers for a reason. If they can sell them at that price then that's a fair market price. If they can't sell them they will have to lower the price as the market dictates.

We are getting SVT's for next to nothing now. When the supply dries up the price will certainly rise, be in no doubt.

Yes prices are great but I still wouldn't buy an SVT notched or not. Just not a fan. Who has bought a $700 notched rifle? I haven't seen anyone who has. Only at regular prices. Dealers have picked up on the interest and jacked the price to see if it will stick. It's gouging, since they paid the same basement wholesale price as the non notched rifles. If they paid $500 for each then I can see that but these are getting plucked out of the crate same as the ones we are buying for $200

Not take advantage of potential customers. That's up to their discretion though as a business operator. Just as its my choice not to buy from them. Same goes for my friends and family
 
I got in my "hand picked" rifle and I'm not as pleased as I was hoping.
I asked for a 1940 izzy 6 port with avt stock, and got a 1941 tula 6 port with an avt stock.
Seems I would have had better luck getting what I wanted with a blind pick. My top was it being a 1940
It's pretty much a mixmaster and the bolt was even force matched twice... Maybe I'm just a pickey ass person. I did get a very nice stock though...

The notch won't be worth even 5 cents on a rifle once I start producing my own scope mounts for these rifles he he he.
